The House of Representatives is slated to begin debate on passage of their fiscal year 2009 budget the week of April 28th. After passage of the bill, the Senate will digest the House's action and develop their own budget recommendations. It is anticipated that the Senate will work to pass their version of the budget in May with a conference committee appointed shortly thereafter to ensure that the opportunity of delivering a budget to the Governor before the start of a new fiscal year on July 1st.
